Holmes Miller have been appointed by NRP, to support Hertfordshire County Council, with the development of feasibility work in designing new schools and civic infrastructure, as part of the wider Gilston Village Estate masterplan. The new housing quarter, arranged across 7 unique village settings, will eventually comprise 7 new primary schools and 3 secondary schools, along with community hubs and care home provision.

Holmes Miller are developing the designs for Gilston Primary School, which will provide 3FE primary and nursery accommodation for Village 1. The project has progressed to RIBA Stage 2, and has recently progressed through formal Quality Review Panel assessment, as part of the pre-planning procedures.  

The project also aligns with the HCC sustainable construction guide, and DfE NZCiO principles, ensuring the new buildings align with the County’s wider carbon commitment.
