Lesser Hampden renovation
We recently submitted a planning application on behalf of our Client, Queen’s Park Football Club, for the renovation of Lesser Hampden stadium in Glasgow.
Proposed works will see the capacity of the stadium increased from a current capacity of approximately 470 to 1774. The proposal also involves minor alterations to the existing Clubhouse, provision of concourse accommodation, toilets & catering kiosks and the refurbishment of the existing Farmhouse and Byre buildings to improve changing facilities to meet SFA standards.
A club statement reads –
"In July 2020 ownership of the National Stadium will change to the Scottish FA with Queen’s Park retaining ownership of Lesser Hampden, currently an unlicensed ground.
This means Queen’s Park will no longer be able to play their 1st X1 competitive matches at the National Stadium.
The club, therefore, plan to renovate Lesser Hampden to a licensed stadium able to host competitive League and Cup matches."
